Types of Car Stereo Speakers
2008
Car stereo speakers are not exactly what give us the ability to hear the signals from the radio. In truth, the amplifiers do that. However, the speakers are an integral part of the entire experience of the car stereo system, and without them, there would only be silence.
Choosing what car stereo speakers you want has a lot to say about how well you will enjoy your listening experience. Finding the right speaker is crucial, and too often people will settle with a speaker that does work right for what they want, and that will hurt the entire experience of listening to the car stereo system.
So, what do you need to look for when you are dealing with car stereo speakers? Simple, look for the two-way, three-way, four-way and five-way speaker systems for what you need.
Two-Way
The two-way speaker system reproduces the frequency range of the music in an accurate manner, using a separate tweeter that is mounted inside the woofer to help it deliver higher-frequencies.
Three-Way
The three-way speaker system, often called the tri-axial speaker system, use the separate woofer and tweeter that is used in the two-way type of speakers, but they add a mid-range driver that will provide better texture to the sound. Some three-way speakers will also use a super-tweeter, instead of a mid-range one, which gives a much higher frequency response.
Four-Way
The four-way speaker system improves on the two-way and the three-way systems, which naturally means they are more expensive. In the four-way speaker system, there is a woofer, mid-range, tweeter and a super-tweeter. So, it takes the best of the two-way and the three-way and combines it to create an even better listening experience.
Five-Way
The five-way speaker system is the best that you can get for your car audio system. This uses the woofer, mid-range, tweeter, and the super-tweeter. However, it also includes a power amplifier in them that gives them a greater range with the amplifier and a better sound as well.
Obviously, the higher you go from two-way to five-way, the more you are going to spend for your speakers. However, to get the best audio quality out of your car stereo system, you are going to want to spend the money to get the best. You can’t go wrong with a five-way speaker system, but a two-way speaker system can work if it is all you can afford at the time.
